Of course there’s some crossover with the Song of the Year category, I can’t think of a year when most of the songs haven’t been in both categories. The 3 crossover songs here are the ones I’m most confident about, specifically Uptown Funk, Can’t Feel My Face and Girl Crush. Continue reading

Grammy Awards 2016 Nomination Predictions – Country
Releases performed by Sam Hunt and Little Big Town will be nominated and will probably win all 4 of these categories between them, with just Country Album that they might miss out on on the night. Girl Crush and Take Your Time have been such huge hits that I’ll be baffled if a different song picks up the Best Country Song award. Continue reading
Grammy Awards 2016 Nomination Predictions – Song of the Year
An interesting mix of songs for the main two categories this year and some omissions in my choices that may seem surprising. My picks lean heavily towards the Pop/RnB side of things, with one obvious outlier. Continue reading
Grammy Awards 2016 Nomination Predictions: Pop
Every year I start my pop genre article thinking I have my nominations picked out already and every year I end up changing the list completely by the end. You’re never short of potential nominees for the pop category, but whittling it down to just 5 can be difficult Continue reading
Grammy Awards 2016 Nomination Predictions: Dance
In 2015, it’s easy to pick out some major hits that are sure to make an appearance here, such as Lean On by Major Lazer, or the second Sam Smith/Disclosure collaboration. 100 Plays Later: No Other One – Taio Cruz
For a few years between 2009 and 2011 I was OBSESSED with Taio Cruz. I can’t really explain why or how I ended up listening to his two albums back to back over and over again for 2 years, but I did and it was amazing. Continue reading
Grammy Awards 2016 Nomination Predictions: Best New Artist
Kicking things off we have probably the toughest category of the year, Best New Artist. Unlike the other big 3 categories, which feature countless potential nominees, Best New Artist is usually difficult to find 5 definite picks. Continue reading
100 Plays Later: No Way – Lady Gaga
100 Plays Later is a series that is exactly how it sounds. I try to explain how I’ve managed to reach a century of plays on songs you may not even recognise. Or explain what it’s like to listen back to my favourite songs for the 238th time. No Way – Lady Gaga – 119 Plays The … Continue reading
Deep Cuts: Lady Antebellum
Lady Antebellum have become one of the biggest country acts to break through across the world. I take a look at some of the deep cuts from each of their albums. Continue reading
100 Plays Later: Whatcha Think About That (Urban Club Remix) – Pussycat Dolls
We can all agree that the best PCD records are the ones that feature Melody wailing over the top of the final chorus and the final ‘BABAAYYYY’s on Whatcha Think About That are brilliant insane. Continue reading
