Album Review: Calvin Harris – 18 Months

18 months, 6 massive hits and worldwide success later, this is not the same timid Scot who gave us Ready For The Weekend. Only appearing for vocal duties on two tracks here, this is a compilation of Calvin Harris productions. The Rihanna, Ne-Yo and Kelis tracks have been knocking around for over a year now, and the Tinie Tempah track is little more than mindless rave pop. There’s hit after hit on here though with Thinking About You and Dizzee hook-up Here 2 China as the obvious standouts. I Need Your Love might be the best song of Ellie Goulding’s career too, and Sweet Nothing sees the Florence/Calvin dream team reunite with spectacular results. It may not push the envelope, but the world would be a very boring place without a few of Calvin’s signature build ups on 18 Months.

Essential Track: Sweet Nothing (Feat. Florence Welch)
