With 2010 well and truly gone, were a full 13 days into 2011 now, I’m looking ahead to the 3 things I’m most anticipating this year. As the final list, I must also thank everyone who read any of these, I’ve got the most hits on my blog since I started with these articles, and so it’s nice to know that they aren’t just for my enjoyment. Expect a lot more from me here in 2011 now that these are fully wrapped up. Here we go…
3) Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt 2
Yes, we all know what happens and what to expect from the final showdown between Mr Potter and Voldemort. The reason I’m so excited/dreading Pt 2 is that it’s the very final time we’ll ever get to see Harry on the big screen. Harry Potter has been an event each and every time it’s come to stores or the cinema, and with him bowing out in 2011, what series could really take its place in the coming years. I know how much I’ll be crying in that epilogue scene too, so maybe I’ll sit right at the back of the cinema!
2) Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception
Announced late in December, this game would make the list if I knew nothing about it at all. Instead, we have the trailer above that showcases more than enough gameplay to get me salivating over Drake’s return to PS3. I point people in the direction of Uncharted when they as why I own a PS3 and not a 360, as 2 is still the defining game of the generation. Seeing Naughty Dog take the series to the desert is sure to make Uncharted 3 2011’s essential game.November can’t come fast enough.
1) Lady GaGa vs Britney Spears
I know, I’ve technically selected two albums for my most anticipated of 2011, but it just had to be the battle for Pop queendom that is sure to happen between Britney and GaGa. The smart money would be on GaGa, earning universal acclaim for simply announcing the name of her new album back at the VMAs. While Born This Way is sure to be a fantastic album, she hasn’t sold me just yet on the idea that lightning can strike three times. Britney on the other hand has had her fair share of bad times, but one listen to new single Hold it Against Me should have GaGa readying her Poker Face for when Britney ends up on top of my end of year list.A DubStep breakdown is so unconventional for even the Lady herself that I simply can’t wait to hear Born This Way debut at the Grammys. 2011 will be the year of GaGa and Britney, and whoever ends up on top, club DJs are sure to have a field day once they hear 2 albums worth of obsessive dance pop.
