London 2012: My Olympics – Day 12

Which sports did I watch today?

Athletics, Equestrian, Cycling (BMX)

Golden moment of the day – Men’s 110m Hurdles Final

I have to admit, I really couldn’t decide what to pick for my moment of the day it’s been quite a slow day in comparison to those before. I very nearly went for the start of the BMX, the preliminary rounds in one of my favourite events of the games kicking off in style. Instead I went for one of the best moments in the Athletics today. GB’s own Laurence Clarke finished a respectable fourth place, the winner Aries Merrit getting the gold by a large margin. It may not have a ‘celeb’ like the 100m, but the hurdles is just as exciting!

Athlete of the day – Allyson Felix (USA)

After getting a Silver medal in the 200m for the last two Olympics, Allyson Felix finally got herself a gold medal in a brilliant race. The determination on her face as she ran that final hundred metres was evidence of how much she wanted the win. A fantastic Athlete and worthy choice here.
