25) Catfights and Spotlights – Sugababes – 2008
The girl’s strongest album, with retro stylings that was met with unfortunately low sales and promotion. Though lacking in a truly knock-out single, Catfights is still the best Babes album we will ever see.
Standout Track: Side Chick
24) The Blueprint 3 – Jay-Z – 2009
No-One does rap like Hov does, and the final part of the already legendary Blueprint trilogy sees him reach greater heights than ever before in his career. Features the chorus of the century too.
Standout Track: Empire State of Mind (Feat. Alicia Keys)
23) Catch 22 – Tinchy Stryder – 2009
With no less than 4 massive singles, you can forgive the low points on this lengthy album. Tinchy is the best of the current UK ‘grime’ scene, rapping over highly danceable production.
Standout Track: You’re Not Alone
22) I Am… Sasha Fierce – Beyoncé – 2008
Yes the album should never have been split into two parts. Yes Sasha Fierce beats Beyoncé in any competition, but with Diva, Halo and Sweet Dreams accompanying ‘that’ dance routine, B strikes gold.
Standout Track: Sweet Dreams
21) Ready For The Weekend – Calvin Harris – 2009
Tune after tune comes and goes across this impressive collection of dance hits. With enough slick production to make up for the slight lyrical mess of certain tracks, Calvin has a consistent great record.
Standout Track: Stars Come Out
20) B’day Deluxe Edition – Beyoncé – 2007
Placed just higher than I Am thanks to a much more well paced track-list, to accompany the smash singles, B’day saw Beyoncé nail the Pop/RnB crossover album formula.
Standout Track: Green Light
19) The Fame – Lady GaGa – 2009
Overshadowed by the massive impact of its singles, The Fame is a Pop record never ashamed to have a little fun. The consistant Fame theme makes for some of the most memorable hooks of the year.
Standout Track: Poker Face
18) Departure – Taio Cruz – 2008
With ‘trademark strings’ in tow, Taio certainly knows how to craft Pop/RnB classics. 12 of which are featured on his debut LP, both Slow Jamz and club bangers working for the producer.
Standout Track: She’s Like A Star
